Peter De Vleeschauwer

Peter De Vleeschauwer was abducted from the gendarmerie barracks in Sint-Niklaas on 14 November 1996. His body was found on 26 December in the Scheldt at Hamme. He had been shot in the back of the head. The murder remains unsolved. The case was assigned to a new group of investigators this year. The re-enactment in the gendarmerie barracks is a positive development, according to Chris De Vleeschauwer, the victim's brother, who brought a civil action. After thirteen years, he is hoping for further progress in the investigation.
