Christophe Bouissou (43)

Christophe intervenes with two other colleagues to settle a domestic dispute. He knew the perpetrator: Elie Verbasco, 65, retired. The gendarmes, who had also been informed, set up a cordon around the house until the gendarmerie's surveillance and intervention unit could intervene.
The three municipal police officers were around 400 metres from the house in question. Equipped with heavy weapons, the man managed to escape on a quad bike and fired at the municipal police officers when he reached them. He wounded two of them. He then fled into the surrounding woods on his quad bike.
Christophe was hit by three bullets in the abdomen and leg. One of them penetrated his bullet-proof waistcoat. He died the next day. He was married and had no children.
