Colleague Alexander Sips died in a traffic accident on April 23, 2015. The colleague was carrying out a speed check. For this purpose, he sets up the laser measuring device on the Europachaussee and begins his work. Suddenly, a motorcycle comes speeding along at about 180 km/h. When the motorcyclist tries to brake, he falls and collides with his colleague. For him, all help came too late. A second motorcycle, which flees on the Europachausse, was directly behind the crashed motorcyclist. The driver was later identified. The motorcyclist did not state that the two had engaged in an illegal motor vehicle race.
