Jan Brychta

On July 16, 2011, the colleague drove across the Hlávka Bridge in Prague at around half past five as part of his job. To this day, it is not entirely clear what exactly led to the official car accident. It is believed that the vehicle collided with another car, skidded, broke through the bridge railing, flipped over on its roof and landed on the bottom of the Vltava River. Firefighters reached the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, only after 20 minutes. Nevertheless, they managed to rescue and resuscitate the injured police officer. However, Jan Brychta died as a result of his severe injuries sustained on July 17, 2011.
