The colleague Uwe Lischid died on March 21, 2006. That evening he was on night duty with two other colleagues. They saw two persons running from the Flghafenstraße into the Fontanepromenade. The persons appeared suspicious to them and therefore they wanted to stop and control them near the park Hasenheide. When the colleague approached them and pretended to be a police officer, one of the perpetrators immediately shot at the colleague without warning. The colleague was hit in the head. After being taken to the hospital, he died there. Investigations revealed that the two individuals had committed a handbag theft shortly before. Both were arrested days later after intensive investigations. One of the perpetrators had buried the murder weapon in the forest in Berlin-Grunewald.
