Thomas Goretzky (35)

The colleague Thomas Goretzky died on June 14, 2000. On this day he and his colleague wanted to control a car driver who was not wearing a seat belt. The latter immediately opened fire on the colleagues, fatally wounding the colleague. His colleague was shot in the leg and was able to call for backup. The perpetrator, a known neo-Nazi, fled. While searching for the perpetrator, colleague Yvonne Hachtkemper (ODMP.eu) and her colleague Matthias Larisch von Woitowitz (ODMP.eu) encountered the perpetrator. Again, the perpetrator immediately shot at the police officers, fatally wounding them both. The perpetrator was later found dead in his vehicle. He committed suicide.
