The colleague Ingo Grebert died on June 22, 2000. The colleague wanted to bring a suspect known to the police to the police station for control. On the way there, he snatched the service weapon from a colleague and shot the colleague. The colleague was fatally shot, but was able to incapacitate the perpetrator with his service weapon by shooting him in the head. The perpetrator survived this shot to the head. Another colleague was seriously injured in this incident.
