THE STORY
Circumstances
On December 18, 2016, together with a colleague, he intervened against a man who attacked other members of the household in a family house in Velice. The attacker attacked the policemen first with a wooden handle, then with a hidden knife. Both policemen suffered serious injuries, but they managed to overpower the attacker. Václav Haase fought for his life for hours with the help of doctors, but he succumbed to his injuries on December 20, 2016.
