Circumstances
He was hit by gunshots fired on 27 March in circumstances that have never been clarified in the Via Ponte Sospeso barracks in Florence, headquarters of the VIII Celere Department; in the same circumstance, Auxiliary Constable Alessandro Gorini was also killed.
