Josef Šafránek

Josef Šafránek served in the Administration of the East Bohemian Region in the rank of lieutenant. On the night of May 15-16, 1991, he and his colleague went on an operational patrol. When they were returning to the service station after a hard night's service, their vehicle drove along Pražská Street in Pardubice. And it was here that a car accident occurred on the fateful morning. The driver of the company car got out of the accident, Lieutenant Šafránek was no longer so lucky in the passenger seat. Lieutenant Josef Šafránek died in a car accident in a company car on 16 May 1991, becoming the twelfth fallen police officer since 1990.
