THE STORY
Circumstances
He was shot dead in Catania on July 28. Inspector Lizzio was in charge of the special anti-extortion unit of the Squadra Mobile and was considered one of the main enemies of the city's mafia gangs. He was killed by two men on motorcycles when he stopped at the traffic light between Via Leucatia and Via Pietro Novelli on his way home.
