The colleague Hubert Rupprecht was shot dead on 11.12.1981 by a bank robber who was known at the time as "Al Capone from the Palatinate". The perpetrator, who was already responsible for over 60 crimes, shot his colleague in the head. However, before the exchange of fire with the police, he threw a hand grenade at the deployed colleagues, which seriously injured one of them. This colleague sat paraplegic in a wheelchair from that day on.
