The colleague Hans-Wilhelm Hansen was shot dead on September 24, 1979 by a trio of the then RAF terrorists. They had just been doing target practice in a patch of woods in Dortmund. Local residents complained about the "noise," so the police were called. Hans-Wilhelm Hansen arrived with his colleague and discovered the group of people. When they notice the police officers, they immediately shoot at them. The colleague Hans-Wilhelm Hansen is fatally shot. His colleague is shot and seriously injured.
