Hans Eckhardt (50)

On March 2, 1972, colleague Hans Eckhardt was shot dead by an RAF terrorist. In order to arrest members of the RAF, the investigation led to an apartment in the Rotherbaum district of Hamburg. When the police broke into the apartment, they could not find anyone. So they waited in the apartment for the persons. In fact, it was two members of the RAF who entered the apartment. The colleagues were standing in the apartment with their weapons drawn. Only one person complied with the request to raise his hands. The other, however, drew a gun and shot the colleague, who died 20 days later in hospital.
