THE STORY
Circumstances
The colleague Franz Lenk died on August 9th, 1931 together with his colleague Paul Anlauf (ODMP.eu). Both were shot by extremists during a patrol. The perpetrators were members of the Party Self-Protection of the KPD (PSS), a paramilitary organized and armed group within this party. One of the perpetrators was none other than the later SED Minister for State Security in the GDR Erich Mielke.
