THE STORY
Circumstances
Eugen von Puttkamer attended a grammar school in Berlin. He then studied law in Berlin and Heidelberg. In 1893, he finally became chief of police in Berlin. Puttkamerstraße in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg was named after him. Term of office 1839-1847.
