THE STORY
Circumstances
He died on May 6 as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty several years earlier. On December 9, 1980, while arresting a prisoner, colleague Bruno Innocenti was severely beaten by the prisoner with kicks and punches, from which he died more than 23 years later.
