On February 10, 2010, in Warsaw, the colleague, who was on vacation and returning from shopping, intervened in an argument with a drunk man who threw a trash can at a passing streetcar, breaking a window. The rioter was helped by a second man. One of the perpetrators held the colleague, the other stabbed him several times with a knife. The colleague died two hours later in hospital.
