THE STORY
Circumstances
On May 15, 1985, he was monitoring a stolen motorcycle in the area of Gyzi, together with Constable Georgios Georgiou and Chief Constable Georgios Dougenis. When members of the terrorist organization "Anti-government Struggle" tried to take over the motorcycle, an armed clash ensued, which resulted in the fatal injury of the 34-year-old Policeman. Officer Vassilios Bouras was awarded the rank of Chief Constable.
