THE STORY
Circumstances
On August 24, 1990, during a police checkpoint in Athens, while on duty with police officer Loukas Papaloukas, he was seriously injured by gunfire from a driver of a vehicle. The 30-year-old policeman was taken to Military General Hospital 401, where he died on September 5.
