Football agent Roman Bezzubovs was killed in Purvciem. It is known that the attack was carried out by three persons who were traveling in a black BMW X5 at the time of the incident. The State Police works in an intensified mode throughout the day, involved in policing in all regions. A video captured by an eyewitness shows Bezzubov driving his VW Touareg from a small side street to Gunāras Astras Street, where a BMW X5 car is already waiting for him. At the moment when the VW brand car tried to leave on Gunāras Astras Street, the shooting started, however, the driver of the VW Touareg rammed the BMW car and initially managed to get away, and the escape began. The head of the state police, Armands Ruks, says: "Criminals fired shots with an automatic weapon. Injured, still able to continue driving, collision occurred. He died in the end.” Currently, the police have information that at least three persons were involved in the attack. The BMW X5 had tinted rear windows, the right side of the vehicle was damaged after the collision with the VW Touareg. The car involved in the attack may have changed national license plates, including Russian license plates. After the murder, the police work in an intensified mode throughout Latvia. The ReTV News Service also filmed footage showing police crews on the roads in the regions. The State Police has taken material evidence from the scene of the crime, interrogated witnesses, and has already received video recordings from the drivers' video recorders. Armands Ruks admits: "The murder was committed in a dangerous place for others with an automatic weapon, which makes it even more disturbing. The criminals have prepared.” People are invited not to be alarmed because they have addressed the specific person privately. After the murder, Minister of the Interior Sandis Đirgens has convened a meeting on the internal security of the country tomorrow to discuss the possibility of creating a unified video surveillance system in the country. The police are still calling on all eyewitnesses to the crime and those drivers whose cars are equipped with video recorders and who were traveling on Gunāras Astras street between 6.30 and 8.30 today to come forward. The police guarantee everyone safety and anonymity.
