Alexander Klos (29)

During a traffic check at around 4:20 a.m., two colleagues from PI Kusel were shot dead. Alexander and his young colleague saw a dead animal in the trunk of a vehicle and wanted to check it because of the suspicion of poaching. Alexander and his young colleague stopped the vehicle and reported this to their control center. A short time later they just radioed frantically that they were being shot at. When support arrived, they could only find the young colleague dead with a shot in the head. Alexander was also shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Investigations showed that the colleague could not even draw her gun. Alexander fired his whole magazine, but it didn't help either of them. One of the perpetrators is a butcher from Kusel, who is said to have lost his identity card while fleeing. A short time later, on the same day, the butcher and another suspect were arrested. Alexander and the young police officer just did what police officers do several times a day: "They looked for the right...".
Alexander was a popular and enthusiastic soccer player in his place of residence. In his spare time he played for FC Freisen 1920 e.V.
