As soon as the bank branch where he worked opened on Agustín de Foxá Street, a GRAPO terrorist entered the branch and shot him in the head. As he fell to the ground, he shot him several more times. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died on October 8. This heinous attack occurred on the same day that GRAPO murdered three police officers in the capital who also worked in bank branches.
