THE STORY
Circumstances
Some terrorists had positioned themselves on the regional road leading to the Alcalá-Meco prison in order to assassinate a prison official. He was shot and wounded, but managed to escape by abandoning the car. The ETA members planted an explosive device in the vehicle. When police approached to inspect it, the bomb exploded, killing the crew members and wounding two others.
