THE STORY
Circumstances
He was on his way back in a convoy consisting of two police vehicles and at the moment he entered the highway, a truck bomb was activated by ETA terrorists by remote control. The blast wave reached the second vehicle, which contained José Francisco, and resulted in his death and that of another police officer, as well as two companions who were seriously injured.
