THE STORY
Circumstances
The terrorist group ETA detonated a truck bomb as a police convoy was on its way back from the Santurce soccer field. Together with a colleague, he was sitting in the front seats of the second police vehicle and was hit by the explosion. Both died on the spot. Two other police officers were seriously injured.
