Gustáv Daňo (34)

Lieutenant Gustav DAŇO was born on 11 May 1930 in Káznice and worked as a blacksmith at STS Topoľčany. In 1954, he joined the National Security Corps and last served at the VB district department in Komárno. On September 26, 1964, Lieutenant Daňo was ordered to present an incorrigible thief and fraudster, in whose apartment a number of stolen items were found, to the district department of the VB in Komárno. The thief refused to go with the officers and pulled out a long sharp knife on them. While attempting to arm himself, he stabbed Lieutenant Daňo in the chest with murderous intent.
Despite rapid medical assistance, the lieutenant succumbed to his severe injuries.
