Bernard Jaško

He was a member of State Security leading an illegal group. He worked at the teletype switchboard of the State Security, from where he retrieved the contents of classified teletype messages. Shortly before his intended escape to Austria, he was arrested by the State Security on June 29, 1949. In the fall of 1950, he was sentenced to death by the State Court in Bratislava and executed on February 17, 1951 in Bratislava. On November 30, 1990, the higher military court in Trenčín rehabilitated him and canceled the sentence. On July 16, 2004, he was awarded the Order of Ludovít Štúr III in memoriam. classes.
