THE STORY
Circumstances
From 1940 he became involved in the resistance. He helped distribute leaflets. In 1944 he was arrested by the Gestapo and deported to the Small Fortress of Terezín on August 1, 1944, from which he was released on May 5, 1945. He survived the war, but died on May 15, 1945, after being transferred to the Roudnice hospital because he had contracted typhoid fever as a result of his imprisonment.
