THE STORY
Circumstances
At the beginning of February 1943, he made unflattering comments about the German army and Winter Aid. As a result, he was arrested by the Gestapo on February 16, 1943. On March 1, 1943, he was sent to the Mauthausen concentration camp, where he allegedly died of acute heart failure on February 28, 1944.
