Ludvík Peša

In 1941 he was transferred from the gendarmerie to Moravská Ostrava, where he was arrested by the Gestapo on May 6, 1941. During his time in Strání he was a member of the underground movement "Vela". He smuggled various people across the Slovak border. After his arrest, he was tried in Wrocław and sentenced to 18 months of penal servitude. After serving his sentence, he was again summoned for interrogation by the Gestapo in Brno, from where he did not return. On January 30, 1943, he was transferred from Brno to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he died on August 1, 1943.
