THE STORY
Circumstances
In 1939 he joined the resistance movement. He supported and harbored wanted persons. He was arrested by the Gestapo in Pardubice on April 9, 1943. On July 5, 1943, he was sentenced to death by the People's Court in Berlin for preparation to high treason, and on July 8, 1943, he and three colleagues were executed by firing squad in the Kobylisy district of Prague in front of 150 gendarmes and policemen from the entire Protectorate.
