Marcel Wijckmans (67)

On Wednesday 24 February 2021, Marcel Wijckmans (Immigration Department/AVIM Budel) passed away at the age of 67.
Marcel was part of our police family for over 46 years. From 1993, Marcel worked for the Aliens Police/the AVIM. Marcel was an inspired and committed colleague. What he did, he did with dedication. The bar was always high. Not only for himself, but also for his colleagues.
Last year, Marcel retired. After his last working day, Marcel left with a broad smile with the aim of travelling to Croatia with the caravan many and often after his working life.
Unfortunately, Marcel was only able to enjoy his retirement for a short time.
For Marcel, his family and grandchildren came first. In second place his work and in third place his boat, his motorbike and his caravan. Despite knowing that Marcel was not doing well, Marcel\'s death comes hard on the AVIM, the police and colleagues.
Until the last day, Marcel was active as a DACO in the I&R street in Budel.
