František Rajmon (49)

Gendarmerie officer, born 25 October 1892, Vysokov station, Náchod district, Bohemia. From autumn 1941 he was involved in resistance activities and hid weapons and destruction material. He provided members of the Resistance with information on which persons were wanted, he also provided his flat to the Resistance fighters and hid food supplies in it. On 2 April 1943, he was arrested by the Gestapo. He was sentenced to death for treason by the People\'s Court in Berlin on 5 July 1943, and on 8 July 1943, together with three colleagues, he was executed by shooting in Prague Kobylisy in front of 150 gendarmes and policemen from the entire Protectorate. He has a cenotaph in Libány, Jičín district. After the liberation he received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam. There is a street named after him in Prague Kobylisy.
