Josef Fichtl (50)

Member of the gendarmerie, born 14 December 1893, commander of the Loučeň station in Bohemia, member of the Italian Legion. He was arrested on 22 October 1942 for participation in the underground organisation Defence of the Nation. He was imprisoned in Kolín, deported via Terezín to the Auschwitz concentration camp and died there on 23 March 1943 in the gas chamber. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam. A street is named after him in Loučeni.
