Rostislav Kolâř (31)

Member of the non-uniformed police of the Police Directorate in Prague, born 17 August 1911. After the Protectorate was established, he participated in the escape of former soldiers to France and England. He himself attempted to escape on 9 August 1939, but was arrested. He was imprisoned in Prague at Pankrác, then sentenced to 3 years in prison by the People\'s Court in Dresden. After his release he was arrested again on 29 October 1942 and imprisoned in Prague at Pankrác, in the Small Fortress of Terezín and then delivered to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he died on 25 February 1943. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam. Due to his previous work at the Police Directorate in Liberec, his name is mentioned on the new memorial.
