Josef Brýl (51)

Member of the gendarmerie in Nitra, Slovakia, until 1936, born 18 March 1891 and then retired. Member of the Russian Legion. In 1939 he joined the underground activities of the Defence of the Nation organisation in Stary Město in South Moravia, where he moved with his family. On 24 July 1940 he was arrested by the Gestapo from Uherské Hradiště on 19 September 1942 for treason and was sentenced to death by the People\'s Court in Berlin. On 26 January 1943 he was executed by guillotine in Berlin-Plötzensee.
