Rob van Capelleveen (65)

On 6 May 2024, Rob van Capelleveen passed away at the age of 65. He passed away after a short illness. \'Green as grass and grew up protected,\' was how Rob winkingly looked back on his early days in public service when he entered the KMAR at the Soestdijk palace brigade as an eighteen-year-old boy 46 years ago. His career in the police started later: Rob transferred to the municipal police in Nieuwegein in 1985. A career filled with beautiful, fun actions and sometimes less fun or violent incidents. He worked in Maasland for no less than 29 years from 1994 and had been a brigadier in emergency assistance since 2002. Rob retired on 31 May 2023; but leaving the police force altogether was not an option for him. In fact, he passionately looked forward to starting work as a police volunteer in Maasland after a holiday break. Unfortunately, this no longer happened; as Rob fell seriously ill within a few weeks. And so much so that he was hardly allowed to enjoy his retirement and neither were we allowed to enjoy Rob in the role of volunteer.
