Karel Habán (46)

Police officer at the Provincial Office in Prague, born 10 June 1895, member of the Italian Legion. He was involved in the activities of the illegal group of the chief councillor, JUDr. Karel Jaroš, and procured documents for illegally active persons and brought out a directory of Prague Gestapo officials. He was arrested on 6 May 1940, imprisoned in Prague at Pankrác, Dresden, Golnov and Berlin. On 11 June 1942 he was sentenced to death in Berlin and on 18 December 1942 he was executed by guillotine in Berlin-Plötzensee. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam.
