Karel Jaroš (43)

Police officer of the Police Directorate in Prague, born 29 January 1899, JUDr. During the occupation he was involved in the activities of the Defence of the Nation organisation. He was arrested on 3 May 1940. On 11 June 1942 he was sentenced to death by the People\'s Court for preparation for treason (resistance organization Obrana národa) and was executed in Berlin-Plötzensee by guillotine on 18 December 1942. He has a cenotaph in Vsetín. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam. Due to his previous work at the Police Directorate in Liberec, his name is mentioned on the new memorial.
