Václav Linhart (49)

Employee of the printing house of the Ministry of the Interior in Prague, born 21 July 1892. After the occupation he joined the resistance, produced and distributed illegal printed matter and cooperated with the Defence of the Nation organisation. After going underground, the Sparta II radio station broadcast from his apartment. From October 1941 he was wanted by the Gestapo, hiding in the internal clinic of Professor František Šimer in Pilsen. He was arrested on 4 July 1942 in Pilsen. After his arrest, he ingested cyanide and died in the Gestapo station in Pilsen. He was cremated in Pilsen. He has a cenotaph in Prague behind the green fox.
