Jaroslav Linaj (45)

Gendarmerie officer in Bohemia, born 11 September 1896, retired. During the occupation, while still a gendarme officer on active duty, he joined the resistance movement. In 1941 he was retired for participation in the Serbian and French Legions. He organized underground resistance groups. On May 31, 1942, after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, he was arrested for approving the assassination and on June 1, 1942, at 7 pm, he was executed by shooting at the shooting range Pod Chlumem, today Mladá Boleslav. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam. On 8 July 1945 he was exhumed and duly buried in Mladá Boleslav.
