Bohumil Hromádka (46)

Member of the police, official of the Police Directorate in Brno, born 4 October 1895. He joined the resistance group Defence of the Nation as early as March 1939, participated in leafleting actions, organised escapes abroad, did political intelligence services, concealed Sokol property, saved municipal chronicles, issued false legitimation. He was first arrested on 10 May 1939 in a leafleting operation and imprisoned in Brno at Špilberk until 8 July 1939. After his release, he did not return to the police service, but was transferred to the Brno-Venkov district office. Arrested again on 8 November 1941, imprisoned in Brno in Kounic\'s dormitories. He was later transported to the concentration camp in Mauthausen, where he was killed on the infamous steps of the quarry on 30 April 1942. He has a cenotaph in the cemetery in Brno.
