Silvestr Kmínek (31)

Police officer of the Police Directorate in Prague, born 17 June 1911. During the occupation he was a member of the Nusel resistance group, which was affiliated with the Three Kings, and was also a member of the Blaník resistance group. They hid weapons and obtained intelligence valuable information about the activities of the Nazi security forces, which they passed on to other resistance organizations, especially the military Defence of the Nation. He was arrested on 18 March 1941 and imprisoned in the Small Fortress of Terezín, from where he was transported to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he died on 16 March 1942, allegedly of pneumonia. Due to his previous work at the Police Headquarters in Liberec, his name is listed on the new memorial. In October 2023, a memorial plaque was unveiled in Prague Nusle.
