Josef Šperka (43)

Member of the gendarmerie, born 14 February 1898, commander of the station Lanžhot, Hodonín district in Moravia until 16 July 1941. He was arrested by the Gestapo with some of his colleagues on 9 September 1941. He was convicted by the state court in Brno on 5 November 1941 for disturbing public order and security and for preparing treason to hand over to the Gestapo and confiscating all his property. He perished in the Mauthausen concentration camp on 7 January 1942.
