Willem started his police career on 01 October 1974 at the Veghel state police. Over time, he was transferred to the Helvoirt group at his own request. For many years, he worked there as a group detective. After the major reorganisation in 1993, Willem joined the district of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch police region, district II (Boxtel/Vught e.o.), where he was vice squad leader for many years. In 2012, Willem retired at the age of 60.
