Amar Kudin (32)

He died in Rome at the crack of dawn on 18 November in a tragic car accident while on duty. Shortly before 5 a.m., Detective Constable Kudin, patrol leader of a flying squad at the Primavalle police station in Rome, was returning to his office with a person stopped shortly before following a report of a theft in a flat. Arriving at the crossroads between via dell\'Acquedotto del Peschiera and viale dei Monfortani, his patrol car collided with another police patrol car that was rushing to the scene of a fight. The heavy collision caused the squad car to overturn, with Special Constable Kudin on board, who was trapped in the vehicle and died on the spot. The other three colleagues and the person transported were taken to the nearest hospitals in serious condition. Detective Constable Kudin had come from the rugby team of the ‘Fiamme Oro’ Sports Group of the State Police, where he had played as a hooker, achieving numerous professional successes. He had then moved into the ordinary roles, being assigned to the Flying Squad of the Primavalle police station in Rome. He left behind his mother, who lived in the Treviso area and had already been widowed by his father, his sister and his fiancée, with whom he was planning his next marriage.
