THE STORY
Circumstances
Gendarmerie officer, born 22 December 1894, station commander of Panenský Týnec, Louny district in Bohemia, member of the Russian Legion. He was arrested on 23 August 1941, probably for resistance activities and hostile statements against the Third Reich. On 22 September 1941, he was transported to the Mauthausen concentration camp via the Terezín Small Fortress, where he was shot on 6 December 1941 while escaping. His name is inscribed on the family tomb in Slane. He received the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 in memoriam.
