THE STORY
Circumstances
He died on 30 January at the Le Scotte hospital in Siena, where he had been admitted two days earlier after falling ill while on duty.
On 28 January, Inspector Valdambrini was at the Torre Fiorentina (SI) shooting range engaged in live-fire exercises when he suddenly collapsed after falling ill. He was immediately assisted first by his colleagues and then by the emergency services and was transported in critical condition to the hospital, where he died two days later.
He was stationed at the Chiusi Police Station (SI) and had also served in Genoa, Florence and Siena. His last assignment was with the Judicial Police Section of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Siena.
After his death, his family consented to the donation of his organs.
