THE STORY
Circumstances
On the morning of 14 May 2025, 63-year-old police major Patrick Duclos was killed in a road accident after colliding with a vehicle on the Riom road near Ennezat (Puy-de-Dôme). The motorcycle police officer was on his way to his post at CRS No. 48 in Châtel-Guyon as a reservist.
Born on 11 April 1962 in Annaba (formerly Bône, Algeria), Patrick Duclos was the father of two children. He joined the National Police in 1983 and successfully completed the demanding motorcycle training course at the training centre in Sens (Yonne). He became a judicial police officer in 2000 and was appointed head of the judicial support group of CRS No. 45 in Chassieu, then head of the company's motorcycle section. He had provided training to several operational civilian reservists. A recognised specialist, he was described as deeply humane, a good listener, always expressing himself with the right words, without excess. He mastered the art of communication and was always ready to help.
